for people who save places on Maps and never know where to go
Golino picks from the places you've already saved on Google Maps. Tell it where you are and what you feel like, and it gives you three answers: with the distance, what to order, who's written about it and your rating if you've been.
tap and try it, it really works
You've saved hundreds of places. Then it's eight in the evening, you're in Isola, you're dying for ramen, you open Maps and all you see is pins.
Golino changes the question: not “where shall we go?” but “what do I feel like?”
Who it's for
Every article you read, every tip from a friend ends up in a list on Maps. Golino brings them back when you need them, not when you happen to remember.
As a couple, with flatmates or with your oldest friend: one shared list, and you can see who's been where and what they ordered.
In a neighbourhood you barely know, or in another city: golino looks first at the places you'd saved nearby.
How it works
Download the list of your saved places from Google Maps once, along with the lists you've already made. Drop it on golino and in a moment they're all there, sorted by cuisine, city and list.
just once, then it keeps up
A neighborhood, a street or just the city. Then the craving, the way you'd say it to a friend: “a ramen”, “something quick”, “drinks with a view”.
even “dunno, surprise me”
Where shall
I take you?
Three suggestions, only from places you saved yourself. For each one: the distance, what to order, the guides and critics who've written about it, and your rating if you've been.
never a place you didn't choose
only picks from places you haven't tried yet
Your places
Golino isn't another archive. It puts what you've saved in order and then, when you're hungry, it does the choosing: it starts from what you liked and what you haven't tried yet, and suggests three.
Sorted by cuisine, neighborhood, list. Green for the ones you've been to, empty for the ones still waiting. Tap a pin, or filter by guide.

You haven't been yet: it's on your “want to try” list.
Usually
With golino
You ask “where shall we go?” and scroll through hundreds of identical pins.
You say what you feel like, and get three suggestions close by.
Every time you start from zero, as if you'd never chosen before.
Golino starts from what you liked and what you haven't tried yet.
You read star ratings from people you don't know.
You see which guides and critics have written about it, with the link to read them.
You can't remember if you've been, or what you had.
You find your rating and your note on what to order.
Whoever you go out with starts from scratch, with their own lists.
You share the same places and see what the other one marks.
Who's written about it
For each place golino looks up who's written about it, among guides and critics, and gives you the publication's name, the year and a link to read the review. You decide how far to trust them.
Together
Whoever eats out with you sees the same places and what you mark: tried, rating, the note on what to order. So next time you don't start from scratch.

Your data
Only you see them, and whoever you invite. Ratings and notes don't turn into public reviews.
Every citation has its link. If nobody has written about a place, golino doesn't make it up.
Suggestions come from your own lists. No place shows up because it paid.
It's being tried out by a small group of food lovers.
Soon you'll be able to bring your own places and try it for real. Leave your email and we'll let you know.
